DO YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?
To be saved, you must continue living in obedience to Jesus until the end.
Backsliders will have their names blotted out of the book of life!
And it is a fearful thing to not have your name in Jesus’ book of life.
“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
HOW CAN YOU MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?
You need to repent (completely turn from ALL sin and stop doing it), believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized in water for the remission of sin.
Then you need to make sure that Jesus Christ is your LORD and SAVIOR.
He cannot be your Savior without being your Lord.
Lord means He’s your Master.
You do what He wants, regardless of what you want.
Live your life in obedience to Jesus if He is truly your Lord.
Luke 6:46“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?”
What you want or think doesn’t matter, what He wants is what you must do because He is your Lord.
Those who profess Jesus as their Lord yet live in disobedience to Him will not be saved.
Matthew 7:21,”Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who DOES the will of My Father in heaven.”
Ask Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit so that you may be born again.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is God putting His Spirit in you.
His Spirit is holy and when He comes to live in you He will help you to live in holiness because He will convict you of sin, teach you how to live a life pleasing to God, and He will guide you in all truth.
Start spending time in prayer everyday so that you stay connected to Jesus and so that you may have power over the desires of the flesh.
The flesh only dies on your knees.
People can pray for you and lay hands on you but if you do not have a consistent prayer life, you will always go back to your sin.
Matthew 26:41,”Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
You strengthen your spirit man by continued prayer.
You need to read the bible to have more understanding about God and to build your faith.
When you read what God has promised and what He did for others, even when you pray you will pray in faith.
Resist the temptation to postpone prayer for the next day.
It becomes a habit and even the next day you will postpone till your prayer life is completely dead.
When you dedicate your life to Jesus it is very important to spend alot of time in prayer so that your desires for sin die.
Continue to seek God daily until the day you leave this earth.
Once you stop praying, sin becomes normal.
Those who backslide and go back to their sinful lifestyle after professing Jesus Christ as Lord cannot be saved.
“But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Those who backslide will have their names blotted out from the book of life.
Salvation is not about what you say,but what your life says.
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Your life will bear a clear testimony of wether or not you have put your faith in Jesus.
Your faith is shown by your works.
If you have faith in Jesus, you will live in obedience to Him, bearing fruit of righteousness.
To be saved you must continue putting your faith in Jesus, bearing fruit of HOLINESS in every part of your life.
Jesus’life will show in your actions, thoughts, dressing, speech.
Everything must be brought to be subject to Jesus, bringing Him glory.
Depend on Jesus by not just relying on your own power but His,then you will overcome.
Yes,you must resist temptation when it comes, but if you want to always be able to resist temptation, then do not play around with prayer.
The more you pray, the stronger you will be to resist temptation because Jesus gives you strength.
You must overcome sin and continue to overcome it until the end.
It is possible as long as you stay connected to Jesus.
Once you disconnect from Him,you die spiritually and all the lusts of the flesh will seem so inviting.
Will Jesus confess your name before the Father and the angels, proudly proclaiming that you are His?
Or will He be ashamed of associating Himself with you because of your works of darkness that testify that you rejected Him,and cast you into outer darkness in His judgement?
